Koos has been involved in the water industry since 1977 and has worked on various projects related to water conservation and management. He graduated as a student of Spatial Planning with a development plan for the North Sea and later served as the Secretary General of the International Commission for the Protection of the Rhine. Koos worked on river basin management in Indonesia and became the personal water advisor of Prince Willem Alexander of the Netherlands. He also became a member of UNSGAB and attended conferences worldwide.
Koos has been working on raising water awareness through museums since 2021 and is currently the chairman of the board of UN-IGRAC, focusing on groundwater. He hopes to continue contributing to achieving global water goals.
