IRC supports WASH Resource Centres and their networks (RCNs) in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Honduras, Nepal and Uganda. In this video RCN coordinators from Ghana, Nepal and Uganda describe what sector learning looks like in their country.

In Ghana, there is a shift towards better linkages and coordination among sector stakeholders: "There's a realisation of the need to engage as many stakeholders as possible to document processes and package, disseminate and package the use [of this knowledge]" says Abu Wumbei. There are also a lot of engagement platforms. Further effort is needed on how to move from joint reflection and documentation towards supporting adaptation and innovation. RCN facilitates learning through monthly national learning alliance platform meetings and by facilitating and documenting other key sector events.

In Nepal, knowledge management and learning are now appreciated by all sector actors as an important issue on the sector agenda. According to Rabin Bastola, sector learning is a gradual process that has now started; "People and organisations are now sharing their information and experiences". WASH-RCNN contributes to learning and information exchange through their newsletter and other information products, by facilitating thematic meetings and seminars, through capacity building for sector stakeholders and support in the establishment of Resource Centres at regional level.

Solomon Kyeunye explains that in Uganda there are three main developments: organisations are documenting their experiences, there are opportunities for sharing these experiences, and there are opportunities to influence how strategies are being developed in the sector. The WASH RC in Uganda in collaboration with NETWAS Uganda and other partners facilitate learning and joint action through multi-stakeholder learning platforms at decentralised levels, national sector learning events, and documentation.
