The Kenya Arid Lands Disaster Risk Reduction project is helping the Kenyan government and local communities in dealing with flash floods and droughts as well as setting up sustainable WASH services. These reports present the Water Master plans developed for each of the target pilot area in four different counties (Wajir, Moyale, Marsabit and Turkana). It brings together findings of the hydro-geological/MUS assessment (conducted in 2013) and outcomes of discussions conducted locally with stakeholders on water demands and water supply opportunities. The Water Master Plan presents figures and maps of water demand and water gaps for each of the water usages, and gives the action plans agreed upon by local stakeholders during planning workshops which took place in each of the county during the first quarter of 2014. These Water Master Plans are the basis for future planning of interventions and capacity building, linked to the overall development ambition for the areas.
