Abstract | Within the WASH sector, aid is considered effective when it enables and enhances capacities to deliver safe and reliable water and sanitation services for the long term, and sustain hygienic behavioural changes. To obtain better insight on the effectiveness of aid in the water and sanitation sector, IRC has developed a concept note for three case studies that are proposed to be implemented in Honduras and two African countries (to be determined). The proposed research aims to understand the effectiveness of aid from the perspective of national actors. The results of the study are expected to provide input to the preliminary aid effectiveness monitoring framework being developed by WaterAid. |
