Meera Mehta is a Professor at the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University (CEPT University), India. She teaches Urban Finance and Development Studies, and manages a major research programme on urban water supply and sanitation. She is a member of the Stockholm-based Steering Committee of the Global Water Partnership (GWP). She earlier worked with the World Bank in India and its Water and Sanitation Program in Africa, and the USAID FIRE-D project in India.
Dr. Mehta has consulted for several international agencies (World Bank, ADB, DFID, UNICEF, USAID and Government of the Netherlands), and non-profits (Gates Foundation and WaterAid). She has written extensively on housing, urban development, water and sanitation and infrastructure finance. Dr Mehta studied Architecture, Urban Planning and has a Ph.D. in economics.
