The WASH Ethiopia 7th Annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum (MSF), which will take place in the Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa from December 16-17, 2015 focuses on the theme 'Priority for One WaSH National Program'. The One WaSH National Programme is the world's largest sector-wide approach to WASH.

The Multi-Stakeholder forum, which started in 2007, is an annual event that brings government, donors and NGOs together to jointly review progress of the WaSH sector and facilitate harmonization and alignment ending in setting up of sector priorities in the form of jointly agreed undertakings for the coming year.

IRC Ethiopia will contribute to this 7th MSF event with four presentations

  • One WASH M&E System Development (by John Butterworth) reporting on our work with the National WaSH Coordination to help develop national WASH M&E systems, funded by DFID and led by Coffey
  • Self-supply (by Lemessa Mekonta) presenting our work to support the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity to implement Self-supply within the OWNP and presenting the results of pilots with the Millennium Water Alliance
  • Private sector engagement and bottlenecks (by Eyob Defere) presenting the DFID/ UNICEF study for the ONEWASH Plus Programme
  • WASH sustainability check results (by Marieke Adank) will share the findings of sustainability checks undertaken in Ethiopia in 2015 including the work of Aguaconsult for USAID with a rural focus and by IRC to support the DFID/ UNICEF ONEWASH Plus Programme in small towns.
