On Monday 8 April, 2013 the Ministry of Water and Energy of the Government of Ethiopia and IRC co-organised a seminar examining 'Ethiopia's National WASH Inventory (NWI): Lessons learned and maximising value', at the Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa.

This day-long seminar brought together Ethiopian government staff, non-governmental organisations, key federal government agencies and other stakeholders involved in designing, collecting data, and analysing it for the NWI. Key discussion topics included:

  • Findings and implications from the first National WASH Inventory
  • Lessons learned in undertaking the National WASH Inventory in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Making data available and encouraging use: what is needed to maximise its value?

All materials from the seminar, including a summary report, presentations and background paper, can be downloaded here.
