The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) appointed IRC Uganda as its National Coordinator. The two institutions have since developed a three year Strategic Engagement Plan to be implemented between 2015 and 2017.

Following the appointment of IRC Uganda as the National Coordinator for the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) in Uganda, the two collaborating institutions have developed a Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP) for the coming three years. The SEP aims to contribute towards improving Sanitation and Hygiene in Uganda and to support the National Sanitation Working Group (NSWG) to raise the profile of Sanitation and Hygiene in Uganda.
From 2015 to 2017, WSSCC and IRC Uganda will focus their efforts on two key result areas – stakeholder involvement as well as knowledge and skills.
Through a wide range of activities, WSSCC and IRC Uganda hope to achieve three key outcomes including:
The framework for operation will be provided under the NWSG, the official WSSCC coalition in Uganda. The implementation of the three year SEP will also target other stakeholders including: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Water and Environment, Ministry of Education and Sports, District Local Governments, UWASNET and Development Partners.
