WASH Talk is a podcast series which opens up the discussion on sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services around the world. The episodes cover various WASH-related topics linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Inspiring speakers from all over the world are given a voice in this podcast series. Not only WASH specialists will share their thoughts and expertise, but also policy makers, human rights activists and people working directly with water consumers in developing countries are part of the wide range of speakers of this podcast series.

We are not only giving these amazing people a voice, but also encourage listeners to share their thoughts and knowledge on the various topics that will be covered. Participate in the discussion by leaving a comment under the episodes! Suggestions for other relevant topics or questions are also more than welcome and will (after selection) be addressed in future episodes.

Kick off

We are very proud to announce the launch of the first episode on 20 February 2017. Patrick Moriarty (IRC CEO) and Stef Smits (IRC Senior Programme Officer and Coordinator Latin America Regional Programme) will kick off with an interesting discussion about taking on a systems approach in the WASH sector – including real-life examples from Honduras.

From that date on the episodes will be published on a monthly basis – covering interesting topics such as menstrual hygiene management and the financing and monitoring of WASH systems. Without revealing all the great speakers we have lined up for this podcast, we can tell you that Bill Kingdom (Global Lead for Water Supply and Sanitation in the Water Global Practice at the World Bank) and Tom Slaymaker (Deputy Head of Policy at WaterAid) are two of them.

Stay tuned and keep an eye on the WASH Talk platform so you will not miss an episode.
