The learning platform for water, sanitation and hygiene systems strengthening
In 2019, with support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate-General for International Cooperation, IRC created the WASH Systems Academy. The WASH Systems Academy was the first free online learning platform offering professionals around the world the knowledge and tools needed to apply a systems strengthening approach. In 2020, the Academy was shortlisted as one of the finalists for the Partos Best Innovation for Development Award.
The WASH Systems Academy is fun, creative, bold and thirsty for change. We want to be ever more inclusive and relevant, strengthening and building new partnerships to create a collaborative learning platform that truly works. We pride ourselves in learning and adapting, striving to ensure our courses are as engaging as they are useful.
We push the limits of innovation and make concrete moves towards increased collaboration, provide real-time interaction between participants and facilitators, diversify our cases, offer courses in multiple languages, and ensure we reach all corners and actors of the WASH system.
Our ambition is that systems thinking and the implementation of a systems approach become the standard. We aim to combine our collective efforts to truly realise a world where we can all enjoy essential services.
