Abstract

This paper summarizes a training programme for rural water supply from 1990-1995 in India, implemented by the Gujarat Jalseva Training Institute (GJTI) and a UK training institute with financial support from the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission and the UK Overseas Development Administration (ODA). Training consisted of lectures at GJTI, field projects and an eight week technical course in the UK. Based on the trainees findings the Drinking Water Mission has formulated model projects in the field project areas.
