Abstract | The learning alliance (LA) approach is relatively new in the development sector but is recognised as having great potential for helping people and organisations to break through barriers to learning about innovations and to help innovations to spread more widely. It is being taken up in response to the need to scale up innovative approaches to WASH services delivery, recognising the different roles and mandates of stakeholders in innovation. This introductory chapter describes the origin and development of Learning Alliances, key concepts, expected outcomes and the steps and activities involved. |
