Abstract

Video presentation based on a series of colour slides illustrating the work of a sanitation programme in a refugee camp in Rwanda in 1995. The video is intended to introduce or familiarize inexperienced staff to a number and variety of issues to be addressed when tackling sanitation programmes in camp situations. It deals with latrine construction and maintenance (vector control), hygiene education, and solid waste management. Besides technical aspects, attention is also given to programme administration, monitoring, assessment, planning , coordination and logistics. The video is accompanied by a booklet containing the script, for use by trainers.
