Abstract

In this session private operators talk about the kind of risk analysis that they go through before investing in the costly preparation of a bid for water project. Their experiences are illustrated by case studies. The three French water supply operators - Vivendi, Lyonnaise des Eaux, and Saur - describe their experiences in China, the Philippines and Africa. Biwater touches upon the financial risk of a BOT project in Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. Another speaker touches on the issue of risk mitigation in Private Sector Participation (PSP) from the owner's perspective.
