Abstract | Article discusses the differences between planned project outcomes and the percieved project benefits at the level of the communities served. The role of women in the process of community participation is also considered. The main conclusion is that water and sanitation projects will be seen as being more successful, if they were planned as entry points for development. That is to say: development in the directions that communities themselves seek and define. |
