Abstract

This report presents the preliminary results of a study of six urban, large-scale dry sanitation programme sites in Mexico: Acapulco, Guerrero; Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua; Cuernavaca (and Tepoztlan), Morelos; Lean, Guanajuato; Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo; and Xochimilco, Mexico City. Data collected included: programme status, unit costs, costs borne by users, and the promoters of the programmes and their motivation. The report also lists a number of innovative strategies implemented by the programmes.
