The signs marking the male and female entrances to the public latrine at Sahapur Bazaar, Roghunathpur Union Parishad, Khulna District

Social inclusion was considered in the design of the project, in particular making the latrine attractive and accessible for men, women, boys and girls. Even the user rates are flexible - the user should pay only if they have the means to do so. When asked what could be done better, the UP Chairman says the facilities are still not accessible for many people with a physical disability or the aged.

Citing a high number of leg injuries in the country where manual labour is prolific, he proposes one or two chair style latrines for ease of use.
