Abstract

The Handbook for Village Water Supply Operators was developed by the Botswanan Ministry of Local Government and Lands for use by the villager in charge of the community water supply. It is written and illustrated in an easy-to-understand manner. The Handbook covers topics from the repair of a leaking PVC pipe or a broken diesel engine, to human health and hygiene, to management psychology. Examples are presented of log books and report forms. The Operator's responsibilities are clearly outlined along with the rationale behind them.
