| Abstract | This film documents the planning and implementation of the Unicef-assisted Imo State Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Nigeria. The project is designed as an intervention package combining water supply (through boreholes and handpumps), sanitation (through promotion and construction of ventilated improved pit latrines) and support of health and hygiene education (through the training of village health workers and evaluation of impact). The film will be of particular interest for those wishing to find ways of involving the community, especially the women, in a water supply project (here the participation and hygiene education is of a 'one-way-imposing' type).
