The community latrine facility at Sahapur Bazaar, including public Deep Tube Well

In the proposal development stage a number of basic designs for community latrines were provided by HYSAWA technical staff. The team chose the one most suitable for the site and purpose: a multi chamber latrine, with separate male and female facilities, septic tank and soak pit system. The latrine also has separate entrances for men and women, a dressing room for women attached to the latrine chamber, an overhead tank pump fed from a Deep Tube Well to provide gravity fed water to the latrines, a delivery line from the overhead tank and tiled facilities for aesthetic purposes. The entire amount required for the approved scheme was 346, 000 Taka of which 46,000 was contributed by the community, largely from the BMC and BBA accounts.
