Abstract

Water is essential to life but it can be dangerous if it is polluted and because of water-borne diseases. Contaminated water is responsible for about 80 per cent of the world's diseases. Purification is necessary but purification plants are expensive and not always available. People without safe water supply try to achieve it in many different ways such as with self-made water storage reservoirs, and home-made water-filters to filter river water.
