Abstract

The book consists of two parts. Part one consists of three overview papers.The first paper discusses the role and limitations of the Mekong River Agreement.The second paper looks at the significance of the issues at the local, national and regional levels. The third looks at the institutional and legal perspectives of the basin's resources management. The second part describes three case studies. Two case studies relate to Cambodian fisheries. The third study analyzes a pilot scheme on community management of watershed resources in Lao PDR.
