Commitments towards hand hygiene : analysis of national, state and district level programmes, finances, and capacities

This policy brief focuses on the findings from an assessment commissioned by UNICEF India and carried by IRC with support from the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CGBA) and the Centre for Youth and Social Development (CYSD). The assessment examined existing commitments on hand hygiene at national and state level and their implementation at district level. This brief provides key recommendations for hand hygiene programming at the national, state and district level from a systems perspective focussing on five building blocks: policy and legislation, finance, institutions, monitoring and infrastructure.
