The All Systems Connect International Symposium was held from 2-4 May 2023, in The Hague, the Netherlands. The event included ten thematic tracks:

  • C1 CONNECT health
  • C2 CONNECT finance
  • C3 CONNECT climate
  • C4 CONNECT social justice
  • W1) Delivering safely managed water and sanitation services
  • W2) Markets and behaviour change: how people invest and driving to scale

  • W4) Governments, politics and systems change
  • W5) Systems change and collective action
  • D) Country Dialogues

Presentations hosted under this resource were part of the CONNECT Finance thematic track.

Although water, sanitation and hygiene often feature high on national political agendas, there is a massive gap between the required costs and financial commitments. CONNECT Finance explored how various actors can work together to implement strategies to reduce the finance gap both in incremental ways, but also with new ways of thinking.

The theme included the following sessions (please use Microsoft Edge as browser for easy viewing):

C3.1 Making cents of the WASH finance gap: more than just numbers

C3.2 The role of repayable finance: financing different segments in the African WASH and water security landscape

C3.3 The role of finance intermediaries: blended finance for water (no presentations available)

C3.4 The role of finance intermediaries: blended finance for sanitation

C3.5 Mobilising public finance: the role of NGOs and civic initiatives

C3.6 Understanding and assessing the foundations for water sector investments: methods and tools

C3.7 Bringing it together. Sector finance strategies: are they worth the effort?
