Abstract

This update of the 2003 report providing a statistical overview of Official Development Assistance (ODA) in the water sector presents the latest available data on aid to water supply and sanitation and makes some brief comments on donors' commitments in 2002. The report includes data on ODA disbursements in the water sector over the recent years and addresses the question as to how commitments are being implemented. It elaborates on the recipient breakdown of aid for water supply and sanitation and provides background material for the Stockholm seminar that will discuss how current aid flows in the water sector address the needs of the poorest.
