Abstract

The article summarizes the findings of an investigation into the health levels of a population of 1285 children under-five which benefited from the Cuba-UNICEF project, which aim is the supply of drinking water, environmental sanitation and nutritional surveillance (test group) and those who did not (control group). The body weight, morbidity from acute diarrhoeal diseases and other indicators amongst the control and test group were compared. Many similarities were found between the two groups.
