Meheret Takele Mandefro

Meheret Takele Mandefro was an intern working on the project Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in IRC's business processes at IRC. She earned a bachelor's and master’s degree in information science in Ethiopia. In her master's research, she applied AI to investigate and predict socially and politically relevant issues, mainly the conflict dynamics in Ethiopia. Previously, she served as an assistant lecturer at Mekelle University, Ethiopia. In addition, she also worked as a data engineer (remotely) at Gmaven, a South African-based company. The application of AI strongly inspires Meheret and she seeks to use her knowledge and skills to automate processes and drive operational efficiency in various sectors and organisations including NGOs.
