Regional Advisor | Africa Change Hub
Gilles is the Regional Advisor for the Africa Change Hub. He joined IRC in January 2023. Gilles has a strong quantitative research background in hydrogeology and water resources management and has prior work expertise on water quality issues related to nutrient contamination in the Mississippi River Basin (USA).
After his PhD, Gilles’ passion for development led to his transition from research into consulting work with various NGOs. Gilles joined the UNICEF/WHO JMP programme in 2020 and conducted various monitoring and evaluation activities, data analysis as well as capacity building assignments in West Africa (Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Mauritania).
Prior to joining IRC, Gilles managed a large WASH portfolio as a technical advisor for the USAID Office of Economic Growth and Environment in Nigeria.
A world citizen and avid traveller, Gilles is fluent in English, French and Pidgin (spoken in West and Central Africa). He is currently based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
