Ana is an interdisciplinary thinker with a great fascination for sustainability and the belief that it can be achieved at every scale, from the individual to the global level. She has a Bachelor in Environmental Sciences (National Autonomous University of Mexico), as well as a Master in Water Management and Governance (IHE-Delft). She has a ‘make things happen’ approach, which has been developed along with her professional life. First, analysing the possible project outcomes, second, engaging with the different actors to understand the specific interests and needs, and third, supporting project development on adequate implementation.
She is passionate about water, environment, people and processes. She has worked with the municipal government of her hometown in Mexico, the Dutch government, research institutes and NGOs. These experiences have shaped her interdisciplinary background, into speaking the language of diverse sectors, understanding different interests as well as developing an out-of-the-box mindset. Throughout her career, she has strengthened different groups formed by young professionals, scientists, government agents, decision-makers, activists, and students focused on environment, water and climate change issues, mostly in Mexico and the Netherlands.
Currently, Ana is an intern working on the WASH Systems Academy within the Global Hub, exploring opportunities to strengthen the platform. Additionally, she is a volunteer coordinating the Human Resources Group at an international organisation dedicated to promoting the participation of youth in the water sector.
