Girmachew Addisu Lijalem has joined IRC Ethiopia team as a Monitoring and Learning Advisor/Local Facilitator for the Sustainable WASH Systems Learning Partnership (SWS). He has more than 12 years of experience as instructor at a university, Hydrologist/Engineer at Construction Enterprises, researcher, senior irrigation-drainage monitoring specialist and resident project leader for IWRM projects at a Basin Authority. He has a B.Sc degree in soil and water engineering at Haramaya University and M.Sc degree in Hydraulics engineering from Bahir Dar University. He has experience with hydrology, water resources specially on IWRM, stakeholder coordination and research. At IRC Ethiopia, he is responsible for government-led monitoring, systems strengthening and regional coordination for SWS in Amhara region, South Gondar and West Gojjam Zones, particularly in project intervention woredas i.e Farta, Dera and North Mecha.
