The GLAAS questionnaire on aid disbursements for WASH includes a question on maintaining and improving service levels and the 2012 report will highlight the issue of sustainability and how much aid is being spend on maintaining and improving services. (IRC is part of the technical support group to GLAAS)

Study “Global costs and benefits of water supply and sanitation interventions to reach the MDG target and universal coverage” The study aim is to estimate global costs and benefits of water supply and sanitation interventions to meet the MDG target in 2015, as well as universal coverage. To increase usefulness, the results are disaggregated by main components of costs and benefits as well as by region and countries. Compared to earlier analyses, the study has been updated or revised to increase accuracy of cost estimates. WASHCost data has been used in the study as well as key concepts of LCCA.
