What a year its been!

And, while we're rapidly closing in on December 31st 2020 – I'd say a year that's far from over yet. 2020 will forever be the year of COVID-19 – and it won't truly be over until a vaccine is rolled out to everyone – and not just to those of us who are lucky enough to live in wealthy countries with strong health systems. Only then, when the high tide of the virus has retreated, will we be able to see what we're left with – what we have as raw materials with which to build back, better. What has genuinely changed, and what remains to be done.
What I do know, is that virus or no virus, the only thing that will deliver the better world that we all believe in, a world without poverty and injustice, a world where everyone has access to the basic and fundamental human rights that are clean and safe water and sanitation, is partnership. Partnership, and shared vision and unified action. It is your partnership and support that has helped us weather this year, and it is your partnership and support that will help us keep going until this year is really over, till COVID-19 is defeated, and till we achieve our goal of water, sanitation and hygiene for everyone, everywhere and forever.
So, on behalf of all of us at IRC, I would like to say thank you. For your partnership. For your support. For making things work in these most testing of times. And for what we will do together next year and the years to come.
