The first progress report for water and sanitation by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets has been published. Brett Walton of Circle of Blue interviewed Catarina Fonseca to get her reaction on the report. You can listen to the interview in this podcast and hear Catarina speak about the shocking results that are listed in the report. For instance: “for the 90 countries that were able to report on basic sanitation, the progress is very, very slow and they will not reach universal coverage by 2030. Many inequalities and lack of services are showing up. There has been progress, but the progress is not fast enough especially for sanitation”.
