WASHCost Ghana supports the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) development process and the Sector Strategic Development Plan (SSDP) to have the Life Cycle Costs Approach (LCCA) embedded in the WASH service delivery.

Life Cycle Costs (LCC), specifically, recurrent costs, have been included in the Sector Strategic Development Plan (SSDP), which should be finalised in the first half of 2012. This has led the Ministry of Water Resources Works and Housing (MWRWH) in Ghana to adopt the use of LCCA to benchmark costs of water service delivery in urban water supply and small towns’ water supply. These benchmarks are in a report to the ministry and can be used for planning and budget preparation by sector actors.
