Monitoring at scale in BRAC WASH

Published on: 28/03/2012

Management Information Systems (MIS), SenseMaker and the Quality Information System (QIS) keep track of progress across nearly half of Bangladesh.

Monitoring is both extremely important and challenging in large-scale programmes such as BRAC WASH. Various systems such as a Management Information System (MIS), SenseMaker and the Quality Information System (QIS) are used to keep track of progress across nearly half of Bangladesh. IRC introduced a simple version of QIS to monitor for example, actual use of latrines, participation of women in water management, and hygiene behaviour change within households – in a way that allows both programme staff and programme beneficiaries to learn from the results.
