On 15 December 2016, a delegation from the Global Sanitation Fund (GSF) and Uganda Sanitation Fund (USF) visited Aton village in Lira. The village was declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) in June 2016. Below are some of the moments that were captured in photos.

On 15 December 2016, the GSF/USF team visited Lira district in Uganda. The team included Rhiannon James and Matilda Jerneck, officials from the GSF in Geneva; Dr. Jane Ruth Achieng, the Minister of Health; Ministry of Health officials including Julian Kyomuhangi the Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Environmental Health Division; and David Mukama the GSF/USF Programme Manager. The team was joined by Dr. Chris Williams, the Executive Director of Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC), the WSSCC National Coordinator in Uganda, representatives from CSOs including the Executive Directors of UWASNET, Water Aid Uganda and Water for People as well as a representative from AMREF Health Uganda.
