Enhancing the WASH Systems Academy

Building strong WASH systems together involves continuous learning and adaptation—this extends to our learning platform.

The WASH Systems Academy underwent significant developments in April to further enhance the user experience. The analysis in this paper, part of our learning series, formed the basis for restructuring the platform and its contents. It is divided into four sections addressing the following questions:

• Who are the users?
• What was their experience?
• How did the WASH Systems Academy courses impact users' learning and professional lives?
• And what can we do better?

Additionally, the paper explores the potential integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve user experience, accessibility, and personalized learning. From October 2023, IRC, in collaboration with WASHNote, is piloting the use of AI for training on WASH systems strengthening.

This paper is the result of an internship by Azza Wagialla from October 2023 to February 2024.
