Since its inception in 2018, the Uganda Water and Environment Week seeks to contribute towards the attainment of Sustainable Socio-economic Transformation and achieving Ugandan National Development Plan and vision 2040.

Uganda Water and Environment Week (UWEWK) is a weeklong event that is organised annually by the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) through the Water Resources Institute (WRI).
The 2021 theme is: Water and Environment security for socio-economic transformation of Uganda.
This year UWEWK2021 will look into the role water and environment resources will be play in:
IRC is involved as co-convenor, moderator and side event host. IRC Uganda country director, Jane Nabunnya Mulumba, will be the moderator in a dialogue on Water and Environment in a Creative Economy on 23 March from 10.00 - 12.45.
