The National Hand Washing Secretariat in Uganda recently awarded IRC Uganda a certificate of recognition as one of the key exhibitors during the Global Hand Washing Day celebrations

Building on the momentum of the 2015 Global Hand Washing Day celebrations in Uganda, the National Handwashing Secretariat Organised Private-Public-Partnership Breakfast meeting to encourage stakeholders to take the theme "raise a hand for hygiene" beyond the big celebration.
Apart from sharing and reflecting on the highlights of the handwashing day celebrations, the breakfast meeting ensured that more stakeholders signed the handwashing charter and also recognised key actors in the campaign. Among the recognised key actors were the National Handwashing Ambassadors of 2015; Private sector sponsors; members of the organizing committee; and exhibitors.
IRC Uganda received a certificate of recognition as one of the exhibitors at the Global Hand Washing Day Celebrations, which were held in Luwero District, on 15 October 2015.
At the same PPP Breakfast meeting, the national handwashing secretariat, hosted by SNV Uganda, also announced the WASH Media Awards, which will be an annual event preceding the National Global Hand Washing Day. The awards will be launched in December 2015, and aim to enhance media collaboration in promoting hygiene and sanitation.
